i've seen pictures of this drawer, but my car never came with it? did yours?

I've also heard that it rattles and slides while you're driving. Nice idea, but I'll pass.

Its part of the optional Luggage compartment package in europe

As said, loose items in it roll around and make noise.

The option also adds a power point in the trunk and a luggage floor net that fastens to the floor

It's a very expensive option for what it is - €210 for a plastic tray. Another problem is that because it doesn't push back far enough, it makes what is an already small boot/ trunk opening even smaller.

Maybe it doesn't go back all the way in order to accomodate the rear seat "trapdoor". I agree with above, tho'. I got a wide shallow rubbermaid container that fits well enough in the back, along with some plastic "jersey barrier" shaped movable carpet grippers. That generally keeps things from moving around. Loose items are also more likely to shift the higher from the wheelbase you go, I think. Best to put that 6 pack in the "no spare tire" well.
