Idiots at BMW better make a SUV not a MUV

I remember when I bought my x5, how angry I was that it didn't have a trailer hitch like the Mercedes Benz ML.

Can we collectively remind BMW that people who own a BMW are high achievers. That the reason we buy a BMW is because we work hard so we NEED to play harder.

That means lots of outdoor activities for us and our families.

I don't want one of those stupid ball hitches, I want a proper hitch like most other SUVS (ie SPORT utility vehicles) to put my bike hitch on, or something to tow my tailgating gear, etc....

If you cant deliver BMW, call it a MUV (mall utility vehicle) or a POSuv.

Hope the execs see this, because one thing I've learned is when BMW makes a mistake, they don't fix it.

Don't believe me? How about the stupid door luck/unlock button that survived the entire generation of the 3 series. So when I jump between cars, I look like I have Alzheimer's trying to unlock the doors.

I'm not sure I understand?! x5 always had an invisi-hitch option. Wasn't an issue ever afaik. Even X6 had that option.

Besides comparing X5 to ML is apples to oranges. X5 is an SAV - "Sport" is it's strength or core so to speak, while ML is more of a utilitarian grocery getter wagon - it's more like a Tahoe/Suburban - far from sport lol.

I bought BMW X5 V8 50i - because I can do many things in it: I can have 7 passengers or I can tune it to my liking and launch it from 0 to 60 in 3.5sec! (faster than Corvette C7 lol). Video is in my signature. I can go hiking up mountains with my family or I can travel 1000 miles in luxury and style. I can go to work one day and I can hit the track another day etc. X5 is many things, but probably and this is just my opinion man - utilitarian towing of things is a last thing I would do in X5. And yet, many people do that too as you can see in pictures. So why call BMW idiots? High achievers are a lot of people, not only BMW buyers lol. Some high achievers buy Lamborgini Urus - now that's more like a proper SUV for high achievers. And guess what? It doesn't have hitch lol.

Most SUVs have a trailer hitch. Can’t comprehend why BMW skipped that option on the X5. E70 body style could have been a breaking point for trailer hitch option.

Never made sense to not offer a factory hitch. Then again, not the first time BMW has gone against the grain.

They've always offered a factory euro tow ball. Guess it comes down to what market they're catering to.
