i just ordered the 330i with sports package and am wondering which snow tires and rims you guys and gals like best. i plan to buy 4 tires and rims for next winter and i like the tire rack website, but i was thinking that i wanted a set of bmw rims. right now i am leaning towards the bridgestone blizzacks. i also dont want to spend a fortune on this. any imput would be appreciated.

You can do a search, there are lots of threads on winter tires on this forum.

Dunlop M3 DSST wintersports are very popular (I am one of their happy users).

BMW rims are insanely expensive, many replica wheels are very nice and cost half as much. Just ensure that your minimum size is 17 inch (330 brake disks size). Best to ask the shop to ensure that the desired wheel will fit.

Good luck.

I agree that the Dunlops are excellent snow tires. They need about 1000 kms to run in properly, after that you would hardly know you had snows on the car. Even up to 140 kph (approx. 85mph), they remain quiet. When I switched from 18" summer wheels/tires to the 17" wheels with Dunlops, there was a very noticeable improvement in the ride of the car. I found the 18" Bridgestone RE050A tires to be hard riding over bumps and very prone to tramlining on rutted or grouved pavement.

I have been driving Blizzak LM-22's (205/55/16) all winter and am very pleased with them. I put them on aftermarket 16" rims (V-series on www.alutec.de). On my skiing trip to Austria last month I took them up to 200 km/h on the Autobahn and they didn't make a sound...
