water around gas filler

I only notice this when I wash the car. Filler area filled with water up to gas cap, no sign of a drain.

Anyone do anything about it?

i use a leaf blower when drying my car and open up the gas door to blow all the water out.

I also use the leaf blower on the gas filler and dry the whole car with it.

thanks for the input, figured that was an option. Just not thrilled to have the water sitting there after a rain storm. I may see if I can easily add a drain hole and hose, like the zcoupe has.

Hmm, never thought about the rain. But after a wash, I stick a microfiber in there to soak up the water. You're right though, there should be a drain.

That is weird, because most of the ones I see have a small drain hole in them.

Mine has no drain holes either and it's always a pain after washing it. Very odd they wouldn't have placed a tiny drain hole

Like a previous poster, I just dry it with a microfiber after washing. Do it as part of my routine, going around the door jams, trunk and hood drying everything out.

It doesn't have drain hole, but I don't think it's a big enough deal to drill a hole for it.

I find water pools in the gas filler area and either side of the windshield, in the wiper area, right where the hood hinges are. I use one of these to suck the water out, works like a champ!

I was wondering when I would find a thread about this. I discovered this when I washed for my M2 the first time.

Someone definitely overlooked this during design.

I noticed this too last week after my first wash. Strange omission.

Yes, this one's bothered me a little since I got the car. Just soak it up with a microfibre myself. Thinking about it, not sure what bothers me less, cleaning this every time or having to mess about unblocking the drain every now and then on my last car.

I had a 2016 F22 . It had a drain hole .
I'm taking a WAG here that the absence of same in the F87 is related to the wider fenders and introduction of moisture into an unseen Bavarian crevasse

Water Collecting in the Fuel Filler

I have had my M2C for about 2 months. I have noticed after the car is in the rain or I have washed it that water collects in the fuel filler area. Has anyone else noticed this?

yes. Use a towel or leaf blower when drying after a wash.

Same. Leaf blower to dry the car after the wash. Then a quick spray wax wiped down with a clean towel to remove any remaining water

Yup. Wash, leaf blower, quick wipe down, then back into garage for wax and tire shine.

Yeah, there's no drain in their like other cars I've had. I use a blower after washing, but like you say rain fills it up other times.

Doesn't do any harm though.

Yeah, seems to be at more of an angle than my F31.
