So far the M5 is the fastest 4 door on MT Figure 8, Hockenheim, Autozeitung test track, Contidrom, Automovil test track (and apparently Shanghai International too)
Curious how M5 seems to be faster than M3/4 Competition Package on track.
I wish BMW would release a Nurburgring lap time but that will probably never happen

The M5 is performing very well on track. I was actually more impressed by the E63 S than the M5, as in the old days, an AMG lapping close to an M car was impossible, AMGs used to be utter rubbish on track (including the W212 E 63 4Matic, given I took mine on track and hated the experience, the transmission was rubbish, and the car felt totally disconnected and lost at the limit).

BMW M has great prowess in making good cars on track. The M5 will always crush the M3/M4 due to its massive power and traction advantage (which easily overcomes the weight penalty). The E60 used to beat the E46 M3 by quite a lot, the F10 used to murder the E92, and the F90 murders the F8x platform on track. It is always to be expected.

great compilation Carlos....

So Ive sourced an F90 M5 inbound in Nardo Grey. Im just wondering if its worth it to grab now or wait for the ZCP. I did regret, just a little, grabbing my 2013 F10 M5 in Oct of 2012 because it was a bit too early and then the ZCP's rolled out. Thats why I enjoyed my 2016 more.

Thanks Vic.
Regarding the purchase of the F90, I am not sure if there is a difference as large as there was on the F10 platform for the ZCP and non ZCP car. If you can buy the F90 now (get a nice deal) take the hit and get the ZCP later (in a great deal as well), you might end in a win win situation. Frankly I would test-drive and get a feel for the standard one first, to see if it is really what you want (as far as reviews and general opinions go, this car is pretty much faultless). If the tune is a mild as it appears to be (slightly stiffer suspension and a small engine tune), since you already upgrade the car, the difference will be pretty minor. It is a tough to call decision

At this point I would wait for the ZCP unless your getting a killer deal on the Nardo.
I love the M5 but a little more sport right out of the showroom would not hurt.

+1

Some early batches of M5 seem to be inflicted with software/fuel tank lining issues (drivetrain malfunction).
Be worth to wait a short while and have those issues sort themselves out. Then go for the ZCP in September. Hate to have you go for the base model

The other thread says May 8th. Surely it can't hurt too much to wait one week!

Some people here say that it's an extremely friendly mustang Dyno. I don't know.

First - its a Mustang dyno - so...that is usually more conservative. And either way - these cars are packing more power than advertised - because math demands it lol. You cannot do what these cars can - performance wise - at the weight they are - without an appropriate amount of power.

Very good news indeed!
