DROUGHT!??! how many of you are going to change your car washing habits now?

I don't get it... how the hell can we be in a drought? The past two years, it hardly ever rained and there was no "drought"... It didn't even snow last year at all.. there was no snowboard/ski season... yet, this year it rained a shitload but now we are in a drought?!?!

I don't know how it all works but I think its gay. Instead of washing my car weekly, I'll probably cut back a bit and wash it every 2-3 weeks. anyone else going to cut back?

Yeah, they can ticket you and make you pay a fine if you are doing something stupid like hosing down your driveway/sidewalk, etc.. think there is also a time frame where you can and can't do some stuff since water evaporates quicker during the daytime hours.

I know Long Beach residents get raped with fines.. or at least from what I have read in the news they do.

yup. thats what my mom told my grandma cause my grandma waters her flowers all the time. its not that they cut it off between those times, but those are the times they tell us not to water stuff or use the hose. only use before or after that specified time and no more than 15 minutes or you get a fine

Anyone has a link to a creditable source of the restriction? I read several online articles about the drought, but found no mention of restriction at all.

They did say they were going to start enforcing restrictions, not that they have already started. At least in the valley its that way.

Im still doing all the same stuff.

Atl has had a droughts forever. We are still on a an absolute watering ban...

What I've been doing is spot cleaning my car with two small buckets and two sponges. One bucket with soap and water and the other w/ just water. Wash in small segments and immediately dry. Works for me so far...

I do it in my garage so no one hassles me.

I wouldn't be surprised if in 30 years or so, we'll all be paying for water by the gallon at the local "water station"...
