Vehicular Motion ECU upgrade

Does anyone have this installed on their M3? Seems a bit high priced for 20 hp

Doesn't seem like a good idea to me. This might be dumb, but is an ECU mod something detectable by BMW service centers?

I would go with like an Evosport unit when it comes out.
