Oil on turbo pipe?
Just looking for opinions on the oil on this pipe. Does it look like its dripping down from the engine above or does it look more like its seaping past the seals on the pipe where it joins the turbo and the intercooler?
Can you get these seals from BMW? I had a look on RealOEM but the diagram and parts show a different setup from my 330D. 20180413_125944 by Adam McFarland, on Flickr 20180413_130230 by Adam McFarland, on Flickr |

Do you have the part number of the new hose you fitted? Cotswold BMW on this forum is charging considerably more than £41 on this forum. I asked for a quote yesterday. Cheers

Had same on mine.
I rekon the oil in the top photo is from the crappy push fit breather pipe above it. I put jubilee clips on both ends and no more oil. I changed the red ic pipe with ebay one last summer. No more leaks now. Like rasa bmw says, the undertray is pita to remove but i wanted to clean it up properly as it had started to drip black oil on my drive when washing car. |

i had a few bits of dialogue with the seller,,he assured me they were good quality kevlar lined,,2 year warranty i think,,forge do one for £115 and other after market ones in the £70 region,,but this boost hose feels quality in the hand,,the old bmw one seemed thinner material/rubber.

Ouch! I might order one of these then and just get the seal for the top where it joins the turbo and then the seals for the pipe on the other side of the intercooler.

Ahhh I have this exact same issue! And was losing oil albeit quite slow so just kept topping it up. Now I know what the solution is, I have the motivation to sort it! Thanks all.

Ordered it so will hopefully get it fitted at the weekend. Ive got most of the engine stripped down at the minute to replace the inlet manifold gaskets and swirl flaps etc.

I plan to clean it up and then monitor it daily to see where it could be coming from. Maybe just a perished seal on the flange connection? |

Pipe came today, looks decent. Hopefully I'll get it on in the next couple of days.

mine wasnt that bad,,even after the split around wheer the securing ring clamps on,,,but as you can see,all this oil is sprayed everywhere..all over the engine and makes it look worse than it is...oil is a very fine vapour when its under extreme pressue..
