F31 H&R Super Sport??

I’ve been searching on here and google and haven’t been able to come up with any answers. I know that H&R only makes the f31-specific springs in the sport version, however I wanted to see if anyone has installed super sports meant for a sedan on their wagon? I hate reverse rake and that’s what I would be concerned with, given the extra weight of the wagons rear end. I had super sports on my 340i sedan and loved the drop and I don’t think the sports alone would do it for me. If anyone has done it or has any insight I would appreciate it!

The sport is low enough as it is. Lots of ppl report to be bottoming out their struts with them. I can't imagine running a set of supersports from a sedan. The rear will be constantly riding on the bumpstops.

Good to know. I figured the rear would sit way too low with the super sports. I was thinking there may be a factory thicker spring perch or pad that could help with the sag. But I definitely don’t want to bottom out my shocks with any load in the back.

What about AC Schnitzer springs? I don't recall where, but you can get them in the US. They are calibrated for the wagon. However, if memory serves they don't drop too much, maybe there's a way around it? I copied this from an earlier post about contact with an importer for the US:

Contact the US importer andreas@acschnitzer-us.com or 949 863-0015.

I did see from most of my reading that the acs don’t drop the wagon as much as I want. The h&r sport may be low enough, I was just hoping to see if the the super sport may be a possibility also as I loved them on my sedan.

I have some super sports for sale. I know someone that fitted them on an f36 even thought h&r doesn't advertise for it, and it fit fine with no reverse rake. My car (f32) actually had a slightly forward rake with them installed, so the f31 would probably be more even. Let me know if you want to try them out.

That's just asking for trouble. The f31 is a lot heavier in the back. I've seen you installed a set of me for the f31 into your f36. You have them cranked all the way to the lowest in the back and it's not even that low. The same set of coils on the f31 with the same drop would be cranked all the way to the highest setting. Roughly 30mm difference. Not to mention if your springs are for a 35/40 the front would sit too high installed on a 28/30 and also too stiff.

Coilovers you can still adjust the height, but there is no adjustment on a set of springs.

I will probably do as advised above and stick with the wagon-specific sport springs to avoid riding on the bump stops and rear end sagging too much. thanks for the offer though!

Springs can be spec'd and swapped. There are a lot of companies that sell springs on their own for that very reason.

But my coilovers are maybe 1/2" higher in the rear than others i've seen. And it's because I included the helper springs that came with the kit but aren't needed, just to see how low it goes, but I did leave out the extra 30mm spacer that comes with it. Normal F30 kits don't come with helper springs in the rear.

Also, there's no difference in front suspension between engines. Again, that's an assumption that people make but really isn't critical. The only difference between F30 and F31 is the max load in the rear advised by KW. the shocks and front springs are the same.

I have acs springs and I regret getting them. Not low enough. But I have add on lip for the msport bumper and I scrape the lip a lot. I do have set if kw V1 waiting to be installed. If I had to do it again I go with hr in first place and be done with it.
