need recomendation for front brakes

2008 e90 335xi FBO

I have the tischer kit for front brakes with the z4is 2 piece rotor upgrade. It was installed at the 95k mile mark and now i have about 151k miles and i'm due for a new set of fronts.

I want to get/build a setup from the offerings at FCPEuro for the lifetime warranty on anything they sell. what setup do other folks like?

My issue currently is that my pads seem to dust a lot (these are original bmw pads and rotors). I was told if i go with a none bmw pad that i would get a lot of squeaking?

My intended usage is purely to commute in traffic to/from work in the los angeles/OC areas... not ever going to track the car.

I’d say look up pad reviews on the z4 forums. If you get the right non bmw pads they won’t squeak nor produce as much dust, but they likely won’t produce the same amount of initial bite.

No need for pricey two piece units if you’re just commuting. Of course, the two piece units do look sharp.

My reasoning is... if I buy from FCPEuro... i never have to pay for the part again. might as well get something nicer and just enjoy the one time expense for a lifetime of benefit.

Lifetime defined as "As long as the original purchaser of the part from FCPEuro sends back the used part (what is remaining of the part)... they will send me a new identical replacement part".

Technically they ask for the VIN of the car but I don't see why you can't just tell them the same VIN forever.

Keep in mind you have to pay for shipping back. Shipping rotors is heavy and can be expensive.

still cheaper then an entire set. Actually they said they don't care about the vin... just part for same part when you return the old
