They should stop putting 4 cylinders in these cars. Only six and eight cylinder. Cars too big too have s 4 cylinder even if it is turbo.

All of us want more power and torque and my next BMW is likely to be a 6 cylinder all things be equal (no change in financial situations or other circumstances etc)
My B47 G30 diesel literally flies (at least to me) in Sport mode from start to 50 mph. I have learnt to maintain the momentum from this point by shifting the gear lever to left and it continues to 'fly' to 70-80mph. Though I am not a boy racer, so far no car has left me for dead at red light. So the 4 cylinder engines are much more refined than in the recent past and buying anything bigger is a matter of 'want' not 'need'. I have never driven 4 cylinder petrol BMW before so I can not comment on them. You could check some of my recent threads regarding my disappointment after test driving 530d. I was expecting a wow effect as a person coming from 4 cylinder G30 who had never driven 6 cylinder before. I am not sure real world performance differences between current 4 and 6 cylinders are as wide as people on this forum make them out to be

It’s a pretty basic car with premium package only...
I completely understand the lack of power... My other choice would be a used 2018 440i with pretty much all the packages..including adaptive suspension.... its actually going to be 3k more than the 530i |

Maybe 10 yrs ago I would opt for more power but traffic and roads here seems to be getting tighter and tighter, or maybe I’m just getting older.
Anyways what’s the consensus on corporate demo vehicle?? I think it has a year extra on the warranty |

As a G30 530i Owner I'm satisfied with performance levels of the car . I can easily smoke any LT1 powered V8 engines and V12 Jaguar's
However, if you can you can search for 540i as it will provide a better performance and driving pleasure .
