Is my car boosting normal?
Well I just got my e92 335i last week...
Drove a good soft 500km on it... I installed my defi boost gauge yesterday... At idle it shows around -21 vacuum and when I gas it will go to 0 .. So it works good.. btw I tapped it to 1 of the diverter hose and it works great... Tonight I stepped on the pedal a little harder (~60% throttle) than usual but nothing close to full throttle (taking it up to 4500rpm only) the boost gauge showed it went up to ~6 PSI @ under 4500 RPM... My question is... Is there a minimum RPM range & minimum throttle postion I must be in before full boost kicks in?? From what I recall, our cars stock boost at ~8.2 PSI...

Sounds about right. Mine shows -21 to -22 at cruise with foot off of accelerator. Should show about 8 psi with a stock car at WOT. You shouldn't have to go to redline to see full boost. In fact it will probably start to taper boost above 6K although I'm not sure about that since my car does not run stock boost.

will it hit ~8 PSI even with just say ~60 % throttle load or will it not hit full 8psi without WOT?
I havent WOT 100% cause im only at 500km on the engine right now, I plan to 100% wot @ 800km, so for now im only seeing ~6 psi... does that sound right

Sounds right. Was told at ED to give it 1200 miles before going nuts on it.
Had two glory runs at less than 700 miles. Couldn't help it.
 Took it easy after that to 1500 miles then gave it my all on the Autobahn unlimited sections.
