High boost pressure

Hi guys
I was looking thru some of the screens in inpa and when revving the car at about 2.5k the boost pressure seemed exceedingly high?
Any ideas what would cause that?
It's a 2007 e91 318d with an n47 engine

Thanks

A faulty coolant temp sensor could cause that!

My coolant temp sensor was faulty and would fluctuate between normal temps and -40! The car would then overboost. Error codes were raised in the DDE.

First thing I would check though is the MAP sensor in the inlet manifold and give it a clean with carb cleaner - see if that helps.

Thanks ill give that a go, Temp sensor is fine i know that much. MAP sensor may not be though so i will whip that out and give it a clean.
DDE is error free but from what i have read the MAP sensor doesn't always through an error.

11000 mBar is 11 Bar - a huge pressure which would split / detach a boost hose with no hesitation. I'm not even sure if a 320d turbocharger is capable of producing such boost. A bad MAP sensor would be my guess too.

Exactly - absurdly huge pressure reading that just isn't plausible.

I would probably just replace the MAP sensor, I know I suggested to clean it but not sure cleaning will have much of an effect.

I wouldn't think that the sensor is particularly expensive.
