VW Touareg
Shoot me down but this looks kinda tasty - especially when it gets the 4L Diesel engine!

I've already picked it as a slightly cheaper replacement for our Q7 in a few years. It was looking a little long in the tooth, so didn't consider it when we shopped for an SUV before Christmas. |

If you are considering a Touareg, you should probably read this www.goo.gl/5PQVCT

Prefer it to the current X5, although new one due soon. Unless they stop being stolen though, I'd never buy one anyway. Plus, less money than Audi, Merc or BMW. What would you go for? |

We had one of the old models when Volkswagen were doing cracking finance offers. Good car for what it was, although for a big car it was surprisingly small inside. Boot wasn't very big either. Still, I'm sure VW have corrected that with this new model. |

That looks great and just shows how far BMW need to move on their interiors when compared to the competition.
Out of my price range sadly - but if I was in that kind of price bracket for a family 4x4 I certainly would be considering it!! |

Every winter I find myself wondering if I should get an SUV - the wading depth would be useful on a handful of occasions per year. I do like the refinement of the X5 in particular and I expect your Q7 is similar. But they are probably too compromised as drivers' cars to be my daily hack, and my other half doesn't want anything larger than her current 5 door Mini! |

"Each to their own", but do you guys really believe the Touareg looks good?
Saw it on Autocar earlier today and my first thoughts were "another horrible looking and ugly fronted VW". Even the inside looks ordinary to me. Don't see the enthusiasm for that sort of dash/interior. |

The new Porsche Cayenne however was one of my favourite cars at Geneva, and based on the same underpinnings no doubt, and yet I found the design to be very nice indeed. No doubt a bit of badge snobbery in there, but overall a much better looking SUV to me than the Touraeg, Q7, X5 et al.

@Alex440 Considering I've only had my new X5 for a week, I'm not buying the Touareg!
Taking away the innocuous front end, I just thought it looks fresh in comparison the outgoing model and sticking the 4L lump in it from the no doubt previous Cayenne will make it an affordable choice for those that can't or won't spend the money on the Porker or the X5/6. Like HighlandPete says, ETTO - I think estate cars look hideous - but that's my own opinion and why I won't buy one but for someone else, they're excellent and represent everything that they need from a car.

I'm not sure what about else to add, if you don't like the shape of SUV's in general, then of course you're not going to like this.
I quite like an SUV and apart from the front, which I'll have to see in the flesh, I think it's a pretty good looking example of an SUV. Plus, not many cars are perfect to look at from all angles. I don't really like the rear view of my 4GC, but I put up with it because I like the rest. |

Interior not my cup of tea. Don't like the pinstripe thing they're doing across the vents at the moment and not a fan of touch screens at all.
I think the white one looks awful at the front because of the huge black area. The blue one with the chrome grill is a good looking SUV to my eyes. |

Q7's for example only come with a V6 diesel in the UK, and in the US they now only come with a V6 petrol. Ps. I'm assuming you saw an old style one, this one isn't out anywhere yet. |

You mean possibly the best SAV/SUV on the market?
Absolutely nothing.
