Impressed with Adaptive headlights / Lane assist at night
I took my G30 out last night to hose off the salt but ended up going for a drive along some motorways afterwards!
I had cruise control on, lane assist on as well as the adaptive headlights . I was impressed with the lighting, as it created beams of light either side of the cars around without blinding them. I was also impressed that the lane assist worked on unlit roads at night. Dipped beam is more than adequate as well with it reaching a long way down the road. |

I fully agree! First time we had adaptive lights on during a nightly drive we started laughing out loud, my wife and I. It literally creates a U-shaped light, where the car in front of you is in the dark and not dazzled.
On top of that, if there are pedestrians or animals on the road they get illuminated in a flashing matter. Fantastic stuff! |

I've got to say that I've had slightly different experience with LKA in the night. I did couple of long drives which went from bright sunlight to darkness. There was a difference in effectiveness of LKA in the night. It wasn't massive but had few times when it would just give up for no apparent reason. I love LKA but think it works best in daylight than in dark.

There're two options or must-have items for me :
Adaptive Headlamps and 360 view camera , others are cool but as not useful as these I'm not surprised at all considering your satisfaction for the Adaptive Headlamps Only downside is price but worth it

I have the icon adaptive lights on mine but unfortunately here in the US they are decoded from the factory. Our highway officials are 15 years behind it seems.

Lights are brill. Sometimes I wonder what the guy in front is thinking when both sides of the country lane to his left and right get suddenly lit up!
