Two new tires in two weeks...

I have the M double spoke style 225 19" wheels with Bridgestone RFT. Picked up a nail/screw about two weeks ago, BMW dealer said they wouldn't patch the tire and I had to buy a new one as I was going out of town the next day and needed the tire. Has anyone else been told this?

This morning I had another warning about 'low tire pressure', turns out I had yet another nail/screw in the brand new tire! Needless to say, had to get another. These tires are pricey, but what terrible luck!

P.S. I should've purchased the tire warranty when I first bought the car. Karma's a B*$%#!!

I had to replace two run flats on my 330, and yes, very pricey. For the price of two run flats, you could buy yourself a full set of decent non run flats and an M mobility kit for the trunk.

yes a dealer is going to say that everytime its called profit. I just go down to a trusty tire shop and if its leaking it costs me $15 for plug and if its not they dont charge me anything. I dont care what people say you can plug a runflat unless its in the sidewall or if its a huge gash.

Good excuse to ditch RFT tires. Lose them

Firestone stores/shops will tell you the same.
But at least if you go with them you can get roadhazard coverage.
Getting an insurance plan for wheels and tires may be your best bet!

I had a huge gouge on my tire as I found out this morning at the dealership. They are going to replace it, and I also have a slight scratch on the 189s...... Damn it!

So? Paragon is $28/year and you can buy it anytime. Do a search, this has discussed to death already.

you can get tire warranty at any time, not just during the initial purchase process.

even if you have tire warranty sometimes the dealers will NOT honor your claim. This is what I think of RFT's.

RFT cannot be repaired like standard tyres. At least if the garage follows the makers recommendations. The problem is that they can't see how far you have driven on a flat tyre or how much damage it has taken.

Replace it with standard tyres next time. I know I will...

I had a nail in my 650i RFT once.. dealer said it had to replaced.. almost 600$ out the window after the first month of owning it. Second nail in the tire a year down the road.. lost air..had it serviced dealers filled the air.. didn't see the nail.. so I drove it for about 6 months.. still good until I sold it back.. they still didn't catch the nail

anyways.. yea dealer is always out to get you no matter what.. people told me it is dangerous to keep the nail in the tire.. especially at high speed.. I still did it anyways haa.. so its up to you to get new ones or replace all 4 with regular tires.. which I would do. RFT sucks IMO
