Inlet off - parts worth replacing?
I'll be taking the inlet manifold of my pre-LCI 330D off soon to clean it out and change the glow plugs and possibly swirl flaps.
While its off is there anything else worth changing? I plan on also changing the vacum hoses and EGR regulator. The glow plug module and thermostats were changed last year. Last edited by adammcf; 03-14-2018 at 07:21 AM.. |

Sounds good, take a few pics and let us know how it goes! If it's done a few miles it's probably going to be tough to clean. Have your cleaning kit prepped. Best to get it a bath overnight.

Maybe get the orange seals for the inlet ports and the egr, in case the ones currently in have perished.
Glow plugs whilst you're in there? Although there's an argument of "ain't broke don't fix" Egr pressure converter to avoid the quacking noise... to drive you mad... Seconded that the air filter is the worst design ever... Replacement bolts for the strut/turret mounts as they're stretch bolts, couple of quid but if you're doing it, do it right 😀 Enjoy. Matt |
