E90 330i msport - Gof tee mod help please ?
Hi Guys, As a total newbie hi to all on the forum. Had my 330i msport now for couple weeks and loving it, such an awesome car even as standard. I’m not sure if I can do it on my car ? But seem some vids on YouTube about this quick golf tee mod to make the idle sound little more meaty. Can I achieve this on my car or not ? And how do I do it please. Not currently got the money for an aftermarket exhaust so just wanted it a little meatier if possible and as cheap as poss. Thankyou in advance for any replies.

OK, I borrowed this picture from elsewhere on this board; this is what your exhaust looks like:
That round thing just in front of the exhaust tips is the valve mechanism. Just pull the rubber vacuum hose off it, and put a golf tee / bolt in there - job done. One of the rear pipes has a valve on it that will be open when the car is off, closed at idle, and open under acceleration. Doing the golf tee mod means its open all the time, and sounds better on idle / deceleration. A lot of these mechanisms seize up over time, so make sure yours is open! Hope this helps. |

There is a connector under the trim in the left hand side of the boot. Unplug that and the valve stays open.
