Burger Flipper Threat

I can see this eventually having an impact on parts of society that rely on this type of job.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/technol...ns-first-shift

Last month we were looking at some Tech that was basically a self service bar, with touch screen table and auto pumps for getting a pint etc.

Quite jazzy but would not want to lose Barstaff (well apart from the crap one at my local).

The trouble with all this automation means simpletons and half-a-heads will now have too much 'leisure time'. Surely the whole idea of manual jobs is to keep these types off the streets?

If you automate everything and put everyone out of work......who is going to buy the shit you make, or in this case who are you going to serve?

That is the danger. Just look at the past 20 years of automation and puters 'making things easier'. We have a fat, unemployable generation who have too much time on their hands. The adverts hype 'leisure time' as if everyone will be living in some sort of utopian perpetual Stepford Wives environment but in reality, it just looks like Sheffield.

I’ll have you know you pair of cheeky gibbon fumblers Sheffield is the home of of our future robot overlords.

AMRC developing co-robotics with the likes of RR and Boeing. Looking at robots working interactively in manufacturing with humans in the same workspace. Uses a lot of autonomous type tech and some very brave (or dumb) people.

The phrase co-robotics is used as it sounds much better than robot slave masters.

And as for our sedentary populace they don’t stand a fucking chance, these things move scarily quick and with big spiky lumps in their mits, never mind a burger flipper or baby cham. Research whatever you want but don’t give the fuckers legs.

or the ability to wire a plug

Seriously thought automous robots will be making more and more in roads with society over next 20 years.

If you see the burger flipper cruelly sacked from their job, please give generously.

Any job that doesn't involve emotional intelligence is at risk, hopefully that means we can do away with the people employed in finance depts......as computers were made to count beans.
