.mp4 format, how to play it on my cic pro

Hi guys, I have a few cool mixes in MP4 format. I would love to play them on my cic. Do I need to burn them as data on a dvd or I need to convert them etc?
All advice will be appreciated.

I have some files like that, won't play for some reason, but others will.

MP4 is a container, can have different codecs within it, if you have two MP4 files and one plays but the other doesn't then check what codecs are used within the working/non working files then chose your new video downloads based on that/re-encode to match working codecs. Easy to view codecs in many ways, if using media player classic is under file ->properties when playing a file...

Yes. If the CIC is incapable of playing files with that codec then how it sees the file will make no difference. Easy to re-encode if you really must play them

No idea, never tried before. That's why I said if you have a working and non working file you could compare. Then you know what will play and can easily see in future if you've downloaded a problem file which needs converting without having to try it in the car each time

Could you please specify codecs used for files that play? I have tried only file so far trough armrest usb which didnt work. So I need to look closely at the rest of the files I want to play. Thanks

I will double check. Both the files use the same codec though, as they're the same album!

Run them through this website, it will give you them back in the same format, usually smaller filesize, but for some reason it does something to the encoding that lets them play on the CIC drive: https://cloudconvert.com/mp4-to-mp4

Worked for me!
