Wireless charger for 2014 F30

Hi guys, recently just purchased a 2014 328i with navigation package. I'm not too sure if this has been posted before but I was interested in the F30 wireless charger but I've only been able to find it on eBay. So the problem I have is that I have heard that the wireless charger is only compatible with 2016 and up models. Was wondering if anyone can confirm this.
Thanks

The wireless charger is also compatible with cars before 2016.
It was only introduced in 2016 so you could think it is uncompatible with older cars.
I did this retrofit in my car from 2015 and it works great.

I used this guide.
But I have to admit that I had some problems with the dismantling.
I have not found the hooks and therefore needed a long time and also scratched the center console a bit.
But in the end I made it and it worked immediately.

Yes, i‘m sure this will work.
The wireless charger is not dependent on the head unit. It is just charging the phone and has an inductive connection to the outside antenna.
