Or at least that's what I think is making that noise when driving through road imperfections.

Thanks!

No, virtually nothing that can wear out and is normally replaced during life of car is covered under CPO.

And cosmetics and car squeaking is certainly not covered.

It's hard to give an answer as your description is vague as to the problem. Need to know when the noise happens, what the noise is and how many miles on the car.

Struts are considered wear and tear items and won't be covered.

I purchased my vehicle CPO (and out of state) and suspected my struts were blown after a few weeks of driving the car around town (very floaty and FR to RR movement seemed unmatched).

I talked to 3 local dealers who all told me CPO will not cover struts, but were all more than happy to quote me ~2k to replace all four corners... LOL.

If you're up for some DIY (or have a good independent mechanic), Bilstein has OEM style replacement struts (B4). ~$300 gets you all four corners.

I agree. Great opportunity to swap to some much better coilovers like bilstein b16

Again, used car buyers should have a trusted mechanic inspect the car before buying. Don’t just blindly trust cpo label

As said already, shocks and wear items and won't be covered by any extended warranty, maybe a maintainance plan but I haven't heard of one that does.

I recently made the jump to KW V2's at 64k. After taking my old shocks out I was able to compress the fronts easily by hand and the rears with a single hand... If you're up by that mileage it's a good time for replacement.

Keep in mind when you're purchasing struts or coilovers, they're going to cost about the same to install so if you were thinking of an upgrade, now is the time.

It's hard for me to explain noises, but everytime I go through a road imperfection ie small bumps, it makes a noise as if I was hitting something, and it's something I don't get on my e46.

There's also a squealing noise coming from the back sit, anyone know that one as well?

I did get the maintenance plan from the dealer, anybody know if it may cover it?

Read it. Anything not specifically covered isn't covered.

I just had my front passenger side strut replaced free of charge when I took my car in to do a routine oil change. The maintenance guys discovered the leaking strut when they were doing the oil change. It was due to the wife hitting a pothole a couple weeks prior.

The REAL answer was given to you in early March.

CPO does not cover struts.

I'm not sure about CPO but my original warranty covered and replaced the front struts.

The front strut was leaking, wasn't dripping or anything; front strut and spring replaced.
Rear squeaking, creaky sound over uneven surfaces; Spring pad upper rubber & ball joint replaced all free of charge.

WHAT IS NOT COVERED

Suspension
Ball joints; bushings; center tie rod; coil springs – sagging (except for leveling system pneumatic/hydraulic springs);
control arms and brackets; idler and pitman arms; stabilizer bar links and supports; strut elements/shock absorbers
(dampers); tie rod ends and adjusting sleeves; trailing arms, thrust struts; wishbones.
Body

Editorial Comment: Make you wonder why anyone even buys into the CPO products.

those are all wear items or items easily damaged by normal driving, hence why they aren't covered. i just had my passenger door lock and oil filter housing gasket replaced under CPO. considering what parts/systems make up these cars, the list of what's 'not covered' is pretty short.

Because the majority of high-dollar repair items are in the drivetrain, and they are covered by the CPO.

Though the majority of wear/tear items are not covered under CPO, they are almost all covered under the prepaid maintenance contract. When we bought our F30 last month, the car had 43k miles and was still under factory warranty until 50k. CPO warranty is an additional year and unlimited miles. We paid for an additional CPO year and 3 years of prepaid maintenance for $3,400. This was expensive up front, but pennies compared to the actual maintenance/repairs for 3 years of ownership. I bring this up as almost every wear/tear item is replaceable under the maintenance program.

You paid $3400 for 3 years of maintenance

You made your Dealer’s month.

... and what wear and tear items do you think are going to need to be replaced to break even on $3400?

You better make sure of what's included and what's excluded. I bet most of the wear and tear items aren't covered by the maintenance contract. They aren't under the new car Ultimate Care.

Well at dealer prices; the brakes alone will almost reach that price. Nevermind you can do them for ~$400 or less elsewhere

I don't think the brakes are going to reach that price even at the dealership, particularly for a non M car. Also, I have 91,000 miles on my M Sport Brake Option brakes and it's still on the original rotors. That includes running M3/M4 stock brake pads at the track.

Well for one, I said almost

However; the dealer quoted me $2600 to do all 4 pads, turn rotors, and do a brake flush... Base model F30 brakes...

And I had to replace my pads at just over 65,000 miles; I replaced the rotors as well since I could get a package price (I did them myself, not at that insane dealer price).
