Logic 7

Hi Guys I recemtley ordered a E92 and one of the options i picked was the uprated hifi upgrade option 676 I am now having 2nd thoughts if i should have gone for the Logic 7 upgrade option 677 . Can some please advise how much of an impovement the 1st option makes over the standard system and how much the logic 7 improves on this ?

Can't quote for the Logic 7 but I opted for the HiFi and don't regret it over standard. Logic 7 seems too pricey an option IMO.

I had option 677, 'DSP', not Logic 7 (think it's the same thing though) on my E92 which was amazing. Got stock on my E90 now which is useless. No experience of the 676 'loudspeaker' system which is inbetween.

Personally I'd go the 677 everytime but I do like my music. Depends what you listen to. If it's just radio chitter-chatter then stick with the stock, just upgrade according to how fanatical you are about music. I'd love to hear the 752 'individual' option though...

Can't comment on the hi-fi set-up, but I think Logic 7 is great, much better than the Bose system on my Merc. I'd love to try the Individual system, though it does seem to get mixed reviews on this forum.

Logic7 is and excellent system, you would need to spend £1500+ on aftermarket gear to equal it, let alone better it.

The Hi-Fi option is not great imho, and hard to upgrade.

Basic system is pretty poor, but at least it has some weight to it, so it doesn't just sound shrill. However you can upgrade it easier than any of the other systems.

For an easy life swap to Logic7, you will not be disapointed.

I'm happy with the Hi-Fi option I've got but I recently heard the Logic7 and it is a big improvement over Hi-Fi. Well worth the money if you can afford it.

Having gone from the DSP/Logic7 to Stock I looked into aftermarket upgrades. You'll easily end up spending what the DSP/Logic7 costs anyway together with all the hassle. Plus I'm sure a car that has been 'tinkered' with isn't as attractive to future buyers than one with the manufactorers upgrades.

I've actually bought RogerXps car and can truly testify how good the system is. It's just amazing. In my old M3 I used to drive around at low volumes and hated listening at loud volumes. It just wasn't worth it and almost hurt. Now with logic7 i find the volume is up much more often, it's just so clear and defined. Totally love it. Far better than my Denon and Mordaunt set up in the house!

I have Logic7 on my 335d but i have to admit that i prefer Bose Sound System from my Mercedes C30 CDI AMG.
Logic 7 is a great sound system with lots of possible adjusts but very difficult to find the perfect one...maybe to professional to my knowledges.

I have ordered the Logic 7 for my E91. I have not heard the Hi Fi or the Logic 7 systems in action but suspected/hope that the Logic system is worth it.
I was told by the stealer that the Logic would be better that the Bose setup in my Audi, which is good and was a £500 option.

If the L7 is better than the Bose in my A6 I will be very happy with it indeed.

There's also Individual Audio, it's very good but also very expensive.

Basic question but how come everyone keeps referring to 'logic7'. Everywhere I look (on 'build your BMW' on the website) the options are i) Hi-Fi loudspeaker system ii) Hi-Fi Sys Prof DSP iii) BMW individual audio system.

Oh, just checked and it's referred as 'logic7' on the 5 series range but 'Sys Prof DSP' on the 3 series - surely it's the same system?? Any ideas???

It is Harman Kardon's "Logic 7" system. You can get it on Mercs as well.

I think it was originally Logic7 in some countries but now called DSP or top hi-fi, the L7 tag is owned by Harman group and was originally on the Lexicon Processors, I would guess they have to pay a license to use the L7 name, where as calling it DSP probably saves money.

Is it different to the Harman Kardon system upgrade you could get in the previous M3, etc - I've heard loads of dissatisfaction with that system whereas my experience of DSP is amazing. If BMW aren't using the Logic7 name, as it belongs to HK, surely it's a brand new system.

No, Logic7 is a DSP alogrithim, in the same way ProLogic is, I think it is just that BMW are going to start calling it DSP in all regions. They may no longer be using the L7 processing, but I would guess the system itself is exactly the same.
