Advice on interior
My car is up for change at work and I have a 2 day test drive booked for a 320i convertible and if I like it then I will get one ordered. I have already decided to move away from silver and opt for white as an exterior colour....the question is, I cant decide what interior colour to have for the leather upholstery. Wifey said to go for black inside but I was never a great fan of black interiors. Any suggestions Guys
Thanks Atariboy (Mark 2) |

I agree, and would say Red or Saddle Brown would be good choices with white. Alternatively go with the std. cloth then go to a coachtrimmers and get exactly what you want.

You have to be 'braver' to go Brown as there are hardly any around but it looks really good.
It's your car so choose what you like.

Does your dealer have a big f... off plasma screen linked to the 'build your BMW' configuration? If so the representation is quite good and may help you decide. Just a thought - worked for me.

I'd have chosen Saddle if it were available on the E91. Second choice from Saddle is Terra which I have gone for.
I have seen various photos from across the pond of AW with Coral, but very rare to go for Saddle. Go for it!! |

As several people said to me whilst deciding whether to go for Terra or not 'if your thinking of it , do it' Its a company car so at least you don't 'own' it and can be changed in two years or so. |

Hello atariboy,
In the E92 anyway, the Saddle Interior looks great! Honestly, the online configurator doesnt do the colour justice, it makes it look very 'bland', whereas it is in fact a more deeper-looking brown! I can only imagine it looking even better with the top down, with the saddle in the sunlight.. For me the choice was also red or brown, but IMO I really dont like the coral red, dunno why I just feel its too bright. My bro has a White TT with red leather, and it is pretty different from that of BMW. I say be different, seeing as Alpine White is really getting popular now, every man and women who gets an AW e93 will go for coral red!! You shall not be disappointed! Whatever decision you make, the car will look stunning! TSL

Saddle and White SCREAMS retro to me on a very modern looking car I'm not sure of it!
Coral Red and White is gorgeous and I personally like Black and White too.

A difference of opinions here....I am a bit torn i have to admit. I think i am doing the right thing selecting white externally....half the sales team at my stealer said its the colour to go for.

White is THE colour!
Don't get me wrong I'm the most retro out of anyone on here but I think a retro colour scheme must be on a retro car, white and red is a little I suppose in the style of the 80's TVR Wedge yet somehow can look modern too. Black and White is a great contrast

Black leather is dull. Look in any BMW used lot and they are 95% Black interiors.
Brown, Red or cream leather have been used since the automobile was devised and are all timeless regardless of exterior colour. At least its Saddle Brown leather and not Saddle Brown Corduroy!!!! |

My dealer told me that they invariably spec. the cars with black interiors as it's 'safe'. They like it when a customer choses something different as they then get an idea of what it looks like 'in the flesh' and can decide whether to spec. a showroom car the same in the future.

Lemon yellow (cream) was on the list but with a 2 year old son I knew it would be tough to keep clean. As said black is dull. Beige is way over the top with all the interior one colour as with grey. Saddle and Coral are the riskier colours but everyone seems to go for Coral. Be different.
