Reversing light wire - grey?

Trying to connect a reversing sensor

which is the reversing light wire? is that the one in grey?

after reading few more post, just wondering whether it is worth cutting the grey wire in the harness or any other place where I can hook up the wire ?

you should not take signal here because light control module will have errors
there is special rear light logic signal near radio and may be pdc unit
download rheingold or bmw wds and check schemes

It depends on how much power you're taking - most decent sensor types will get their main power from a 12V source, but the reverse light is used as a signal only. I put some Cobra sensors in my F20 - no errors.

the problem that light module measure light bulb resistance and power current to diagnose them
overall this is not good because car have special rear drive signal

thanks. I tested by using the purple for positive and brown for negative. it is working fine.

But running the wire from rear bumper to dashboard, I am finding it tricky..
