European delivery

has anyone tried to order the new M5 (F90) through European delivery? I have been told that we can't do a Euro Delivery on a "Launch car"?

Question. I live in canada. The dealer charge, let's say, 8k for european delivery.

I lease the m5.

What is the advantage of doing that rather than having a little trip to germany and going fast on autoban ???

No European Delivery discount/savings on MSRP like the U.S. in Canada. For us Canadians, it's just the ability to pick up a car in Germany with a factory tour.

I was told by my dealer that ED’s no longer provide a discount in the US. Is that true?

A normal European Delivery for Canadians is free, with no discount on the car like in the US.

The $8000 'option' is for the BMW European Tours. It lets you pick up the car at the Welt and then do a 7 day trip sponsored by BMW. BMW Canada did 2 last year (2017). You can read more about it here:

Anybody from California arrange ED through a dealer here? I am striking out on finding someone to take order. I'm in the Bay Area, but would road trip to LA if needed.

I have been trying since July, but so far no success (other than one dealer offered to do an ED at a $10k premium ... over US delivery).

Have anybody been successful in getting a ED, and if so, which dealer offer it?

Been looking at 3 BMW dealers in the Bay Area and 1 in Arizona, non so far have been willing to do a ED for me.

Let me know if you find one ... same story here ... no success so far (and willing to go to LA, LV or even all the way to Phoenix ...).

I gave up and got one in U.S. in August. Loving it. Bummer that they still haven't opened up ED on this car.

Try Long Beach BMW (or reach out to David Aviles on this forum)... Long Beach was seamless for me on the F80 ED.... and I've heard of people picking up F90s so it's got to be doable.

Not true, you can get European Delivery on this car. Please call Mark Nishimura (310) 488-6922 at Century West BMW. He did my European Delivery at the very beginning of the M5 Competition launch when no other LA dealer would. Please tell him Gene Bush referred you. Good luck.
