Just got a 2AC7 & 3100 code after replacing VCG and PCV valve...
Looking for advice. Just got a 2A7C and 3100 code on my 135i after replacing valve cover gasket and PCV valve.
After I finished the job the car started up fine, ran for a couple minutes then suddenly started running rough, and threw the CEL and codes. Only thing I can think of was when I was screwing the PCV valve in, I heard a small cracking noise as I finished. Could I have damaged the PCV valve or valve cover by screwing in the PCV valve too far? Would that even cause these codes? Here's the report from carly - note that the codes for the Pre cat 02 sensor and the post cat bank 2 O2 sensor kicked in just a couple days *before* I did the valve cover gasket. It's could be a hickup with the tune if you have one or the vanos got dirty. Disable your tune (if you have one) and Try deleting the codes and starting the car again to see what happens. I'd also make sure your oil is filled to good on the oil gauge (if you removed any)
