Any new M5s in socal yet?

I am waiting on my wife's ordered M5 to get here in a couple of weeks but my wife wants to see one before we buy it. Any on the ground here for demo and such near Los Angeles?

No. Your wife's (if it's in fact getting here in a few weeks) will be an HEA unit which means it's the first batch of production. There won't be any demo units available before your wife's - as she's going to be the first. My info is that all HEA units have been delayed to the west cost and are scheduled to arrive in early March.

Ok, Thank you for your help. What does HEA mean? The boat with the car is scheduled to arrive at Port Heuneme on 02/15 so unless there are any delays I should have it by end of Feb.

Where did you hear about a delay? An artificial hold or actual transportation/production delay? My HEA is on Liberty and is in Baltimore right now. Scheduled to arrive in Oxnard (PH) around 2/15.

No production or transportation delays. Rumor going around about the cars not being released until official launch in early March. My car hits the port this Friday.

I heard about it from my dealer. It's not a production delay as far as I can tell. It appears to be a shipping delay. But I suppose it could also be a hold of some sorts. He didn't specify. But he did specify that whatever he was referencing was only for the West Coast.

Is your car on the Liberty vehicle carrier? My dealer checked is still showing that they will get the car without delay or holds...

No it's on the Thalatta due in 2/11 mine may need repairs, my F10 was stuck in port for a waterpump recall but that was for all of the new F10s in 2012.

Other threads says they're holding release of the F90s until first or second week of March, anyone heard one way or the other

My car has a fuel line recall. Minor repair, but I was told the F90's won't be released from the port until March. Others on here are saying there are no holds. I hope they are right.

If yours and my F90 are in need of a fuel line recall most likely all inbound will need it also.

In 2012 the new F10s had a waterpump recall and they ran out which delayed delivery for 2 weeks, hope they have plenty of fuel lines.

Mine is also on the way soon. I'm in the east coast and I haven't heard any news about delays but we shall see.

Note from my dealer:

Vessel:
Voyage No.:
Bill Of Lading No.: INTEGRITY
CB802
ACB80201
18779-01

Your BMW should arrive at the US Port of entry (Baltimore) on February 8th and it takes approximatly 7 days to clear customs, be processed to the transport company and delivered to our dealership and we will need about 8 hours once your vehicle arrives to prepare your it for final delivery to you.

Your car only or all throughout the country?

I just found out that mine is also going to be on hold in the East Coast.

3 factors for the hold are:
1) EPA testing and customs clearance
2) Any recalls or port installs required
3) BMW M5 debut date (TBD but I'm hearing March sometime).

Anyone have an idea on the debut date?

I have confirmation that no port accessories, including exhaust (1MA) will be available for the M5 until the 2019 model year. Only what you see in the US ordering guide is available.
