The Allies may have won the war in Europe, however they certainly won the peace.

Mind you it pays to keep the Germans well fed and supplied with uber autobahn stormers, they tend to be a bit of a handful when pissed off....

I'm happy to appease the Germans by letting them have France. Maybe we should have let them do that in '39? Would have saved all that unpleasantness*.




* Allowing the US to decide when to join the war when it was beneficial to them, raping us on Lend/Lease, using the war as a 'business opportunity' and generally swooping in prompting our Empire to crumble, moving in to take the reigns as we were on our knees post war rebuilding

Just watched episode 2, the sheer arrogance and total lack of human emotion in Scott Tucker and his lawyer is unbelievable. Their justification of 'What we did was not illegal' is simply astounding.

I love the way it was edited to make him look like the victim from the beginning, he must’ve felt like the whole thing was going to be about him and how he was wrongfully prosecuted.

Not watched it yet, however from the comments it appears to be about doing whatever it takes to make money.

No real surprise there, human life, the planet everything does not matter to people bent on making money.

This is why we have so many different regulatory bodies etc, go back to 18th century and the stuff that used to sold to general public.

Nothing really surprises me these days on just how vile, corrupt and horrendous humans can be.

Watched the VW episode and it reminded me about how the tobacco companies used scale and financial strength to stall the inevitable.

It's always down to the bottom line which is life these days but really depressing

It makes me want to opt out of this rat race shite and just be left alone.

The pure arrogance on display in Ep.1 which is typical of those who crave power (& I don’t just mean the Germans) although Dr.Piech’s interview from years ago when he stated that VW would energe victorious from a global car war was a bit disconcerting🧐
TBH I don’t know what bothered me more - the outright lying of the VW German hierarchy (even under oath!!), the tests done in a quite part of a German city near a kindergarten which were still obscenely high or that poor monkey pawing at the NOX ridden glass trying to get out of that glass box😞 Ffs it wasn’t even in the name of science, it was another pointless cover-up!! Sometimes I despair at our lack of humanity
