What Fluid is Pinkish-Orange?

It’s a 2016 340ix. In my spot in the garage, there is a pinkish/orange spot on the cement right under the engine.

I know it’s not oil, haha, but what is it? Coolant, tranny fluid, transfer case fluid, what?

Tried to upload photo.....The Dimension limits for this filetype are 1900 x 1334. We were unable to resize your file so you will need to do so manually and upload it again. Your file is currently 4032 x 3024.

But it’s just a spot on the floor, like an oil leak but a different color.

What’s the Fluid?

Ok, thanks, not ATF, manual tranny, will update original post.

The coolant in the big tank was low, they filled it once. It has to go back in for the DME connector check.

AFAIK BMW coolant is blue, not red, transmission fluid would be my guess.

Almost every fluid is available in more than one color, even oil, so you can't go by that. When you flush brake fluid it's recommended that you use a different color, so you know when the old is all out, leaving only the new.

Washer fluid sometimes comes in that color! What kind of viscosity or odor, not that I advise touching or smelling it.

Rain-X does, which you shouldn't use, it messes up the reservoir level sensor.

I don't use rainx. In fact I do not recall the last time I bought washer fluid. The dealer usually tops it off when in for service and they also leave an additional one which lasts me till next service or beyond. The one they supply is BMW branded and is a purplish or pinkish color.

A lot of manual transmissions use ATF now.

Dinosaurs use real computers with photo editing software, and they type with their fingers, not their thumbs.

With your 6sp. manual transmission, you're forgiven for being a dinosaur!
