I tried my first 1/4 race ever at Autoclub speedway in Fontana, Ca.
Due to high wind speeds - it was shortened to a 1/8.
So times:

60' ... 1.989
330 ... 5.518
1/8 ... 8.474
mph ... 82.42

I find the times somewhat disappointing.
I have a RWD 8ZF with i/c, cp and jb+. I have Falken Azenis 265 in the rear.
I thought I'd get at least 8.3x. Or am I being to optimistic??

my last dyno read out 325whp and 331whp. the internet calculator with weight and time says my how should be 327 uncorrected (not sure what that means) and that seems in line with the Dyno. still can't help but feel the car feels either inconsistent or anemix above 3k rpm.
I'd appreciate some feedback
Thanks

General rule of thumb converting to 1/4 mile ET/MPH, you take the 1/8 mile ET/MPH and multiply by 1.55 for ET and 1.33 for MPH. So you're looking at around 13.18@110mph. Assuming you were running in a stiff head or cross wind, you should expect to run a bit quicker (few tenths) and faster (couple of MPH) in more still air. There's a lot of wind resistance happening above 60mph. I've personally seen the affects with my own cars. Temperature, humidity, and elevation can play a roll too, even with turbo cars which to adjust to come extent to compensate for the worse density altitude conditions. If you run in 50-60 degree air and at sea level, you'll be a bit quicker and faster as well. Lastly, you should be able to get a bit better 60' (lower 1.9s). Every .1 you shed in 60 foot will net a ~.15 drop in the 1/4 mile ET.

From what I'm seeing, your drag racing experience, and the conditions you ran in, I think your car is running fine.

Thank you XutvJet

That was an awesome response. you helped me understand a lot more about all of this.

and yes there was so much head wind that they shortened it down to 1/8. I wasn't sure tho if it would make that much impact on time tho
Thanks again

Agree with the above - We usually get in low1.8 range on 60 ft (AWD) and our best run to date was 12.5 - which is about where you would be if you got the 60FT down - with RWD drive and that much HP to the wheels it is going to be tricky to get in the 1.8 without Drag Radials.

I've gotten as low as 1.91 short time with my RWD M240i on stock 245 Pilot SS's and my track isn't known for good prep. See what I can do on 255's this year.
