Saw a trailer for this tonight n TV.

Yes I will give it a go. It's a car show after all so that's good for me. Will see how the guys have developed into their roles.

Now Chris Evans has gone I quite liked season 24. Very similar to the 'old' top gear with the challenges etc but I like that, if I want car reviews I'll look online rather than watching 1 of 3 pillocks driving it faster than I ever would around a track I'll never drive.

Mind you, I still prefer The Grand Tour!

To be fair, the original original series started in 1977. I remember watching it

Remember watching it at my mates house, they had a decent tv and not only did his dad have a car but his brother had one as well.

Would be great if traffic density was the same now as 1977.

I was at the filming of the last episode of the new series yesterday and it was excellent.

They had 3 SUV's doing horse jumps and stuff and they had the (Renault) Alpine A110 that set on fire. The car in the flesh was beautiful.

I wasn't planning to go but got invited late friday night so thought it'd be rude ont to go.

I've got tonights episode on V+ as I wont be near a TV when it is aired.

Noticed that Extra Gear is now on BBC 2 at 22:45 tonight. I think it was only on iPlayer before.

Yeah great show tonight. More grown up these days really and of course gone has the political incorrectness of the original three stooges, which I kind of miss.

Still .... watch the grand tour for that. Good to have a choice of decent motoring shows and the reboot of TG.

Good premise, awesome locations, decent cars. I'm afraid I just find Rory Reid irritating though, and that somewhat spoils it for me. I'll still happily watch it each week I'm sure.

I think now Matt doesn't talk like a three year old reading the autocue, and is a little less cardboard cutout. Its a lot better.

Seeing the three of them actually do the filming they are far more fluid than before. I haven't seen last nights episode yet but if seeing them filming then Saturday is anything to go by I think they will be great.

I didn't realise that when Chris Harris does the voice overs for some of the lap times he is doing it live and unscripted. He did it 3 or 4 times for the star in a fast car bit and each one was noticeably different.

They also don't read their scripts off the auto cue. We could see the auto cue and they were using it more of a prompt for what to say roughly not word for word.

Enjoyed it & they are starting to gel together. RR needs less airtime though, leave Chris & Matt to do it.

I can cast iron guarantee the production team at Grand Tour watched that last night and went "Shit!".

I love Clarkson's writing and enjoy May's programmes and presenting style. I just think they are not quite hitting the target with GT.

I find Rory Reid ever so slightly irritating, but overall, last nights show was far superior to anything that the previous team knocked out on the last series of GT. Matt Leblanc has settled in nicely I think too.

I disagree. RR seems like he is held back massively by the big name and the car nut.

They do seem like they've finally gelled and they're a great trio now.

Just as long as they keep Eddie off the screen I'll be happy.

Only saw the last 5 mins but it is recorded so will watch soon.

In the little I saw Matt was totally wooden looking straight into the camera and sounding like he was reading word for word.
