lol 20k dealer markup? What kind of dumb shit comparison is this?
bottom line: 58k for a base m3 coupe vs a 56k 335i including 15k in mods and possibly voided warranties in the future. I love BMWs, not just Ms or 3s or 5s, but the 335i and M have their place in the model lineup for a reason. I don't know if this was a Dinan advert but they were really biased throughout. |

Nice. To the point. Not a lot of fluff.
The driver liked the M3. Then the commentator at the end "M3 is not worth the extra money". Brutal. They are discounting the M3's here. How much, I don't know. If I had the money and a Shell gas card there is no question which one I would have.

This was very nice!
I would take the Dinan 335i over the M3 anyday.

Great video, very well done. Results not suprising...at least to those with Dinan Stg. III. I'm very happy that I went the route I went...The M is still the M...but a full blown Dinan car is certainly a rare bird and seemingly keeps up with the M in most aspects...if not beats the M in some areas. Cool.

Dinan parts arent magical, you can get the same performance for more than half the cost elsewhere. With that said, i would rather have an M3 than modded 335i. I just enjoy modding too much and the M3 would leave me with no mod money.

Commentator sounded pretty dump - $ for $ the M3 was the clear winner for 2 cars that would cost you the same, but there are a lot of cheaper mods that make the 335 almost as much fun for a lot less money!

The M3 is a better package it seems. Crisper more buttoned down handling makes it a better high performance car. I'd also be concerned about the longevity of boosting a stock 300hp engine to over 400hp although I don't know what Dinan includes in the Stage 3 package. If there are new pistons and crank it would help.
Thanks, Mike. |

Did he say he was getting OVERSTEER with the Dinan stage 3 suspension package??? Did I miss something??? That sounds pretty incredulous... i thought the Dinan suspension would be better than that...

I originally ordered the M3 but backed up for a number of reasons. Initially I just didn't see the extra cost going as far. I figured for 2k more I could Dinan stage 2 the car and get pretty close hp wise for much cheaper. Then I saw the other parts come out so I went buck wild on the Dinan engine parts. The M3 is best ordered with a coupe, no moonroof for the CF top and DCT. The DCT will run you a good chunk of change though. Since most of us haven't driven it we can't say whether it is worth it or not, the dual clutch that is. Both are good cars but I am disapointed with with the low torque numbers of the M3.

that mark up must be in SoCal. I picked up my 335 the day the M3 was launched my dealer had 4 at MSRP. all were loaded to the gills with stickers of 72k. If I had the money the M3 would be in my drive way.
