Undercover police flashed me but didn’t stop me??

Abit of a werid one as i’m quite confuse what happen.

I was on the Hammersmith flyover which i think its a 40mph, i went past a Black X5. Suddenly i saw blue lights, he turn it on and off quickly... i moved to left lane expecting them to stop me, they didn’t they drove away very quickly.

I know i was speeding, when i looked i was 58 so no excuse they let me off

i was prepare to give them my license... but they didn’t stop me?. I managed to catch up when i turn right and they were waiting to turn left( blue lights off) i saw them with police clothing so it wasn’t fake...

so what just happened?

What he (above) said. That tinker of the lights said you're a pesky scrote, slow down, and don't fuck with the McDonalds run.

i would never thought any police are nob, i respect them and if they caught me then its only right that i get penalised. so i never moan or bit8h about them. They are just doing their job and i took the risk of getting caught when i speed so it’s a fair game.

i thought so too but why would they wait for the red light to turn green
when they have power to use blue lights to cut traffic when attending to emergency?

Wrong turn of phrase, a flash of the blues usually does the trick. Not everyone appreciates being stopped and spoken to, you slowed down, job done. The respect goes both ways, sometimes it goes un noticed

I use that tactic alot. Especially if I have to go somewhere for an appointment and don't have the time to stop the offending vehicle.

It's happened to me twice. Once on the M25 an unmarked interceptor pulled alongside me an the passenger cop gestured to me to slow down. And again on the M20.. An unmarked Skoda bluelighted me and then pulled alongside and gestured the same.

The Hammersmith flyover is a 30mph and my guess is they were armed response and gave you a little warning with the blue lights as others have said above

bigger fish to fry - but also had exactly the effect they were after

had this with marked and unmarked cars and as some of the above- shows they are human too

but they may not feel so inclined if they see you doing something similar in future

I find they have memories like elephants

They are generally better equipped and have done the same level of driving courses that RPU officers do too.

It was just a “slow down fella, it’s your lucky day” flash, unless it’s ignored, then it will be “come and have a seat in my car please”.

Do you by law have to get out of your car and join the police officer in the back of his car if requested?

If you are not under arrest would you be totally within your rights to remain in your vehicle and insist the ticket is dealt with there?

If it happens when you're in a 330d it's because they know they can't catch you.
