BMW website is shit
Anyone else tried to use it recently?
I used to nosey around it quite a bit, but now it's just awful. You can barely find out anything useful, like technical data on the cars, or a list of prices. It's not very logically laid out and you end up going in circles coming back to the same pages. Then the AUC part of the website is appalling. For a start I can't even now set the parameters of the geagraphical search area, and I can't see anyway to change it So all I get is cars from the one dealership on Oxford. Then if you are going to give people the option to filter on the equipment they want then they really need to ensure that the cars are entered on to the system with the correct equipment stated. The new car builder has been the same for years now, and is ever so clunky compared to most of the others companies ones now... time for a major refresh perhaps. I'm amazed at the prices they charge for many of the extras, and yet they can't even be arsed to explain them properly, and try to convey what benefit or value they might have. The whole thing has been designed by morons, is sloppy in execution and maintenance, and so is it any wonder BMW sales are struggling a bit relative to it's competitors.

Ah ok, good to know. I just deleted all my cookies on the BMW website and the location filter reappeared. I don't really get why they'd try to force people to just look at their local nearest dealerships.

The AUC section is really bad, so much so that our neighbour who is a Used Sales Manager says their sales have dropped by 25% since they launched the new website. He was quite frustrated about it as they weren't meeting targets etc.

Agreed.
Technical data - gone! PCP option calculator - long gone! Useless finance deals - In Out of date instructions and guides - In Pages of useless models - Hell Yeah I know I'm now a convert but even [shite technology JLR] can allow me to build an exact spec model and see precisely what each option adds to a monthly PCP. And....that's on Mobile devices as well as PC! Come on BMW get back on top of this stuff!

Agree it's really poor for what is after all a luxury brand - well, premium at the very least
Still, I'd rather BMW employed great car designers and engineers than great digital marketeers if I had to choose!!
