Our crack negotiators strike again
Theresa May gives Macron £44m to secure Calais against pesky migrants. Macron returns the favour on the same day by telling her to go fuck herself if she expects any special treatment for financial services under Brexit. We really are a force to be reckoned with.

Very harsh words. We also get to borrow some old carpet for a while. It'll look lovely as a stair runner in No10.

Fear not, give it another few years and Germany will invade the Frogs again.
The French - Ginger step child of Europe. The rest of Europe hates them more than they do us. |

I don't think we'll end-up with the equivalent of full membership of the Single Market because we won't be prepared to accept what goes with it (on-going contributions to the EU, free movement of people, etc). However, I think a deal which is considerably better than that enjoyed by (say) the likes of Norway ought to be achievable, not least because that would make perfect sense for the EU as well as us. The EU politicians and negotiators may want to cut their noses to spite their faces in order to try to make a point about the merits of EU membership but ultimately I'm not sure businesses in places like Germany and France will let them.... |
