Decent dishwasher

Hi gents

Did you came across anything worth checking? Having in mind incoming baby I need something fast and quiet. Been searching websites all morning and have couple of ideas but would like to hear your experiences as well.

thanks dude

I am considering either Bosh or Miele. Miele being obviously SQ5 with better interior lol

Bosh seem fairly decent priced , reviews seem good as well

We have a Bosch and it works well but I have nothing to compare it with. It just does the dishes without too much fuss.

I have a Bosch, and it works very well.

Don't get caught up in the eco modes, mine has eco (normal) mode that takes about 3 hours, saves eleccy, but because it runs the rinse at cold temps, the dishes are wet when you take them out.
Instead I use good old 'intensive' , which is old school 'normal' mode. The dishes are at 60degrees when the machine finishes and the water vapourises in seconds.

I'm sure that means my triple A rated dishwasher is not reaching that standard, but who cares.

I would also recommend Bosch. My mother had one and it finally gave up this year after 17 years of no faults. She has now replaced it with another Bosch.

We bought a kenwood when we bought our house and It is no comparison. Flimsy and parts always falling apart on it, spray arm has already cracked off two after about 7 months.

If I had the choice again I'd have gone for a Bosch.

Always buy Bosch as the quality is good and the price is reasonable. We generally have Bosch everything

I am now of the opinion to join the throw away contingent and I Generally Buy Beko

The beko washing machine has been great for nearly 6 years with everything two small children can throw at it, only needing a new pump last month costing £20 and 30 minutes of my time.

I have also just purchased a Beko dishwasher, for £200 in the AO sale it performs very well and if it lasts two years ill be happy.

cant see the point unless you are going to spend Miele money which is the only other brand I would have these days.

all the best

We recently had a new Siemens dishwasher installed when we had our kitchen replaced. Haven't had any issues so far and it's very quiet.

We’ve had a Whirlpool dishwasher for the last decade and it just works. Even used it as a parts cleaner when the wife has been out. Wasn’t expensive at the time and if it breaks down then probably replace with another.
MIL's Miele dishwasher broke down last week. Engineer has been out but can’t repair as the heating element is no longer available even though it’s only 6 years old so are now awaiting on a new machine. It’s not been the reliable brand they’ve had before as it had faults whilst under warranty with seals and the control unit.
I think they’ve gone Bosch this time as their Miele washing machine also had faults.

We've got a Neff built-in unit.

The one and only 'fault' has been when the filter needed cleaning out, and the maching wouldn't drain very well.

That's it in the 6 years we've had it for.

Last year we bought appliances from Hotpoint for a kitchen extension. They have some higher end stuff which is great, not sure about the cheaper ones. I had an incentive though, we distribute them and I get trade prices and end of line offers.

Our dishwasher is A++ rated, as I'm sure a lot are now. It is almost completely silent, which is great most of the time, especially if running at night.

But, a silent dishwasher isn't always perfect, I open it up when running pretty regularly because I don't know it's on!

1 more vote here for Bosch. Intensive wash on time save is the go to setting for us & it's great. That & it has a cutlery draw at the top, so much easier than the basket of old.

Got a Miele a couple of years ago to replace a built in Whirlpool which I hated with a passion after trying to fix it. It's been faultless so far and cleans far far better than the Whirlpool. Did a lot of research before I bought it and the consensus seemed to be that new Bosch ≠ old Bosch in terms of reliability and quality.

Another vote for a Bosch. Sold our old one as the house we bought had a built in one, not a Bosch unfortunately.

Cant wait for this one to break though so can get a Bosch again.

Perhaps Daftasabrush is right and newer Bosh'es are not equal quality wise to older units , from couple of years back?

On the other hand , it just a bloody dishwasher , I am not buying Africa for crying out loud!

Old Boschs were great, my mother's must be at least 20 years old and still going strong. I've had to fix it once but it was a dead easy fix. You say 'just' a dishwasher but I turned into a raving loony, telling everyone about how great our Miele was when we got it!

That's odd, we use Eco mode on our Bosch when putting the dishwasher on before bed. In the morning everything is dry.

Only other mode we use is Speed Perfect, which does it in just over an hour. Definitely runs hotter than Eco mode!

We are another Bosch house, fridge, freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. All great. Agree with NISFAN comments on the eco wash. Don't bother with it.

Having said that, our last house had a Whirlpool one built in and in 14 years it was faultless as well.

Have you tried a woman? Much cheaper and if you wanted to, you could occasionally backscuttle her at the sink...while she’s cleaning your dishes
