Stressing over finding a tinter in Colorado

I am really stressing over choosing a tinter in the Denver, Colorado area. I am very concerned how the dot matrix will come out. It seems as though it is hit or miss. I have called just about every shop around and I am no closer to picking one. I am taking delivery of my car ~June 20 and want to get this done right away. I also want the same place to be able to do a clear bra as you all know how rough the roads around here can be on a front end.

I have been unable to find any pictures of a tint job done with the vinyl (I searched in the tint pictures forum but could not find any) so I don't even know if I want this done. Clear Choice in Boulder is the only place that mentioned they would use the vinyl on the dot matrix but they are very expensive (they use Suntek Carbon film). The more research I do the more I get confused about the kind of film I want. I am not even sure if I should get 35% or 20%.

If anyone can shed some light (no pun intended), I would really appreciate it. I am

I'm interested in the same info... IDS tint did mine, and it looks good, but the rear window dot matrix sucks my left nut. I'd like to see if someone could put vinyl on the inside over that part (and cut out the tint on that section if necessary).

That is my fear about IDS. I was posting with someone in another thread that had their tint done at IDS. Initially the person said they were happy but said they would report back in a few days. They never reported back which makes me think they are not too happy.

I spoke to someone at IDS about the dot matrix and they basically told me that they will not spend too much time on the dot matrix and that it is my problem to deal with. They also said they will not mess around with a vinyl strip and that if I wanted vinyl I would have to buy it myself as they will not carry it.

Clear Choice in Boulder is the only place I found that will do the vinyl.

Tint Craters on Broadway in Englewood seemed to be failry competent. They told me that while the dot matrix will pose a problem, I can bring the car back after a week or so and they would continue to work on it. My ony issue with them is they use Suntek HP film which is metallized and I wanted to avoid that.

Went out and grabbed some pics of mine just for you (Yes I know its filthy). Got it done at IDS. The dot matrix is OK, they got half of it done, but not the other half, so I'm thinking if they just work on it a little more they can get it all the way. I have to go back anyway for a little piece peeling up on the lower side of the drivers window. Honestly unless you are really looking for it, no one will notice.

Thank you for posting the pictures. If you had to do it all over again, would you go back to IDS? How dark is the film?

20%...supposedly. However I have had my car next to a guy with 5% and it sure looks like mine is as dark as his.
Yeah I would go back to them again. I feel they did a good job, and the price was pretty good. From what I have read, everyone has a problem with the dot matrix, and I really didn't want to have a piece of vinyl up on the top.

Thanks so much racey. I had IDS do a clear bra on my 4 runner several years ago. Based on your recommendation, I will use them again. I am going to go for the 20% Madico non-metalized film. All i need now is for my car to get here. I should be taking delivery from Murray ~June 20. See ya on the road!!!!
