I need help please!!! Chargepipe issues
Good morning everyone. I need help!
Yesterday afternoon I installed the Evolution Raceworks charge pipe on my 2013 BMW 328i F30 N20 engine. When taking it on a test drive after installing it I went to get on the gas and got about 50% power and got a message saying "Drivetrain Malfunction. Drive Moderately. Not all engine power available." I pulled over and took a look at all the connections and they all seemed good. I did notice a loud sound that seemed to sound like a boost pressure leak when I floored the gas. Anyone ever run into this problem? Any suggestions? Only other Mod to date is a Berger tuning Stage 1 tuner. |

You could have knocked something loose without knowing. Run a boost leak test. I made a tester for about $5 at Home Depot. Very useful tool for anyone who is modifying a forced induction car.

check the C clamp connected to the intercooler of the chargepipe and see if it is attached correctly. I have the same issue but with an aftermarket intercooler with ER chargepipe lol. You just have a boost leak right now.

Vacuum Line
Thanks everyone for the input. I think my vacuum line may be the issue. It doesn't seem to want to "snap" in. I noticed the minute I run boost through it, it blew out the bottom. Any suggestions to reinforce that connection?

If it's the one right next to the throttle body, Spray some wd40 or white lithium grease and make it fit. Alternatively you can heat it up with a heat gun and it'll do the trick. Grab a hose clamp and seal it so the hose can't come off the charge pipe.
Otherwise you could always stick a one way filter into the transmission breather hose and just cap the charge pipe with a cap. Dorman makes a box set and you can get from autozone/advance/etc. Dorman is the brand. Just make sure you use a hose clamp on the plug as well to ensure the cap doesn't come off it Manual n20/n26 cars don't have this line.
