Correct Differential Fluid

Since my car is sitting at the dealer awaiting a new M-DCT transmission due to an incorrect fluid change, I also want to make sure they put the right fluid in the differential.

My understanding is that the correct differential fluid is SAF-XJ 75W140 part # 83-22-1-467-993. My invoice shows part # 83-22-0-002-094, which I think is regular non-LSD fluid. Can anyone shed some light on this?

I checked my 1200 mile service invoice and found it to be the following:

6 83-22-0-406-941 1/2 LITER TRANS FLUID
3 83-22-1-467-993 1/2 LTR DIFF OIL
1 83-22-1-467-993 1/2 LTR DIFF OIL
1 11-42-7-837-997 SET OIL-FILTER ELEMENT: 114010
9 07-51-0-009-420 OIL: 83251010

You have a DCT though and this requires a different fluid than the 6MT.

I'm inquiring into the differential fluid, not the transmission fluid - should be same for 6 speed or M-DCT

The differential fluid listed on my 1200 mile invoice is "Final-drive gear OI 83-22-282-583". Does anyone else have this differential fluid listed on their invoice?

Could it be that the differential fluid 83-22-1-470-080 is a 55 gallon drum and by the quart/litre it is 83-22-1-467-993.

Could be--I know my dealer generally uses bulk. Some of the fluids come in 5-liter containers, as well.

I think different dealers have different internal codes for this fluid becouse this is not a official BMW supply, just Castrol product...

I don't believe that's correct--0the 5-liter tranny fluid container I have says "BMW Group" right on it and has the factory code.

Not sure--the MLock diff needs one with an LSD additive to prevent clutch chatter. Mine has been making noise since service.

Sh#!. I note a little chatter, but I think before service something like this a heared too. I'll go to my service to ask show me the bottle... Is there are some official BMW information about this LSD additive?

P.S. If this chatter problem fixing by changing to correct fluid?
