Photo's from Downunder

I thought I'd cheer you cold lot up and show some photo's of a new Aussie X3, M Sport pack and some extras. These aren't my best pics and they're only iPhone ones, but they'll do until I get a chance to take some proper ones, maybe tomorrow. Opticoat's being applied as I type this.

Here's the link to the gallery; http://simonb.zenfolio.com/p667436131

Love the M Steering Wheel. Did you code the system to have the M starting animation?

I did, yes - used Bimmercode tool. Limited options across the board, but developer advised me more coming soon.

I’m in the process of adding some photos to the gallery of the wheels having Opticoat applied, thought there may be some who’re interested.

Are you able to defeat the horn honking when locking with motor running from outside the vehicle? I am sure we are bothering the neighbors on freezing mornings.

It’s not something I’ve seen referenced, sorry. Not much demand for that down here

Yes you can - within iDrive.
Confirmation signals from the vehicle
Via iDrive:
1.
"My Vehicle"
2.
"Vehicle settings"
3.
"Doors/Key"
4.
Deactivate or activate the desired confirmation signals.
"Flash for lock/unlock"
Unlocking is signaled by two flashes, locking by one.
"Acoustic signal for lock/unlock"
Unlocking is signaled by two honks of the horn, locking by one.

Thanks! I saw that and dismissed it as lights (flash). I will study that more and play around with it.

Taken some more pics this morning after the 12 hour polish, paint protection (Opticoat Plus) application yesterday but I'll refrain from adding them and will try and get some decent pics out and about today.

Hi, nice choice Simon. I picked mine up 2 days before Christmas, some colour scheme and had Opti coat on car & wheels with 3M tint. The Opti coat makes it sparkling no matter the light and it washes great.
New to the BMW world, coming from Subaru's, how do you recode the graphics on centre screen?

Hi Simon,
Is your stop start button in black or silver plastic?
Can I ask the ballpark price for your exact config?

Did you get the Executive/Comfort package?
Doesn’t Dynamic Dampers come with msports pack?

Silver Start/Stop button.

A shade over $100k, but it’s not quite as simple as that, as you’d probably know.

It was off the floor, so I didn’t select the packages, but the paperwork specifies:

- Aluminium fine cutting
- Confort Package
- M Sport Package

It also had several dealer selected HEA options, which I am told included items such as panoramic sunroof, sensatec leather dash and a few other items.

The dynamic damper system may well be with M Sport, as I didn’t select it, it’s hard to tell exactly.

BMW don’t make it easy to work out exactly what extras you have or haven’t got, in Australia at least. The VIN decoders helped, with the paperwork and a sheet I got from the sales manager, me decode what I actually got.

Thanks for the response.
Yeah it is hard to clearly identify some stuff.
From my research of price lists... the dynamic damper is part of msport.
It is not the msport damper as that is only on 40i apparently but it’s better than standard dampers.

The Sensatec was only available as part of the Executive pack.... unless you got the black leather with blue stitching upholstery.

The Executive pack was renamed Comfort pack which has Sensatec removed.
So my guess is you do have Executive pack in the first on floor models.
I could only order comfort pack.

For cost savings I went the rhombicle which is included with msport pack.
Aluminium fine cutting was an extra $300... although it does look FINE as the name suggests.

I notice that the M sport steering wheel buttons... the one that says LIM with a clock on it.. - is it the same as what we have in the US as 'SET' - basically setting the max speed of the Adaptive Cruise Control?

Nice pics!!
