£700 fine - the joys of means tested punishments when he clearly has very limited outgoings!

He must be wee Jimmy Krankie's nephew to have escaped with a fine at 120mph. Being 19 and presumably having bugger all driving experience makes this all the more serious.

My mate got caught years ago on his way to his dental practice jumping a red light and he got off with it, not because he had clients with bad teeth waiting for him.

He’d been at my house the night before and we’d had a jalapeño laced pizza, he got caught short and when he was pulled he shat himself literally!

What bollox, no way he should be allowed to keep his licence for that speed.

Personally he should have had 11 points on his licence for 4 years, if he then did something instant ban.

I can't believe he used the going to church thing.

This type of stuff (usually footballers, actors etc) just makes a mockery of the legal system.

5 pts and £700 does sound very lenient. Even if you're not going to give an instant ban then like Brigand I think the consequence of any further violation should be a definite ban.

I know folk who've got 6 pts for fairly innocuous stuff (marginally over the limit for example) over the course of a few years and it just seems wrong compared to this guy on 5pts.

I'm actually surprised that this happened in Scotland though, as attitude to speeding there is harsher than in England from what I can see normally.
