Radar Detector

Knowing that radar detector is generally illegal in all provinces/ territories of Canada (At least illegal in Ontario), wondering if anyone has one mounted and currently using it in where it is not allowed..??

How do you set them up so that cops will not be able to hunt you down after you get pulled over for any other reason???

I actually installed mine on my sun visor above my head. Ran the wire through to the back to have it turn on and off with the car. There's no way anyone can see it unless they kneel down to look up which I've yet to see so far

Sure thing, as soon as I'm home from work. I ran it through the headliner down the drivers side and all the way back through the rear seats to the fuse box. No need to remove anything, a simple "tucking in" of the wires will completely conceal them!

Nice! and also let me know what unit you are using and how well it works against any cops and standing parking radar shooting ones on the street if you could! Would love to hear as I am hunting for one at this moment!

Cheers

I am using the Valentine V1 (most updated one they have). My father and I have been using their radar detectors for years and so far (knock on wood) no issues catching anything. Usually starts notifying you about a mile in advance. Also have taken it to Canada with me and has worked with the Canadian police. I wasn't sure if they use the same radars but either way caught them all.

Also think it's pretty cool you can send in your old version for an update for a fraction of the price as a new one!

Thank you so much for such great info! Will probably stick with yours as it offers with update under lower cost instead of buying total new one years later!

Thank you again! And waiting bad for your set up

You're more than welcome! Always happy to help! I'll post some pictures and send you a video of the wire the whole way back. So expect a pm for that since I can't post a video here.
