Help - Macpherson Strut

Evening all,

I’m hoping someone can put this in to layman’s terms for me. My Mrs Corsa D failed it’s MOT today for the following:

ARB linkage ball joint dust cover excessively damaged - is this just the drop link?

Macpherson Strut has excessive movement at the upper attachment - is this just the top mounts?

Thanks folks 🙂

ARB linkage is about a tenner on-line and easier than changing a wheel. Two bolts and it's off. Plus there will be no affect on wheel alignment.

The strut is much more of a job but where did you take it? I do believe GM struts are supposed to have movement and many fast-fit centres fail them unnecessarily.

That’s good news... it was taken to a local garage (who took it to another garage) and they want £400.00 to rectify the work, I looked and laughed as I roughly knew the parts might come to £50.00 or so but wasn’t sure (hence posting on here). It would be good to know if the movement is meant to be there or not.

Thanks
