Champagne...
As we are all winning at life owning a Beemer... and it's Nye.
What is everyone's favourite Champagne? Mine is completely out of my price range and is laurent perrier grand siecle. Managed to fly BA First once or twice and they serve it there. It's amazing not sweet at all and very dry. Perfect. I have bought the co op champagne this year as they won awards and they are both nice. Anyone else? |

Not really that in to Champagne, however have had stuff very genuinely mentally expensive to cheapest stuff.
Best one was some local stuff while in France - it ticked the boxes. But it's not really something I take much pleasure in drinking, a good whisky, a good rum, Gin, red wine etc yes. |

Now a really heavy red like amarone or a Jerez brandy is a winner as well. |

Champagne is like all wines in that the law of diminishing returns applies. Pound for pound Sainsbury's Blanc de Noir is the best value I know of. That being said the Dom Perrignon we were given as a wedding present was lovely.

I’ve tried lots of expensive ones but I don’t think it’s any better than cheap supermarket ones, as long as they are Brut (dry) & Cuvee (from the first press of the grapes). Can usually be got for £15 to £20, ones that come to the top of my head are Andre Carpentier, Louis Delauney and Tesco Premier Cru.

Louis Roderer Crystal is outstanding but soooo much money. Dom is not worth the price.
Everyone thinks Veuve is the bees knees, but to me it’s just ok. I love Bolly Grand Annee and even the standard is always great. Cheapo wise Mumm and Heidsieck are very pleasant and Lanson not bad. Moët is council chav shit. I must never win the lottery as I’d drink a bottle of champ a day, love it! |

I got a bottle from a well known Northern California rapper after I walked one of his friends in a serious felony trial. Was torn between drinking it and leaving it on the shelf in my office. I finally couldn't resist, but I kept the bottle and the card.

I have quite a few bottles of very collectable champagne, my family have collected / traded in it since the 60’s.
I have more than enough in my cellar to pay off my considerable mortgage. Never drink it though. |

An English sparkling wine called Nyetimber which incidentally shares the same soil due to the same tectonic plate as the Champagne region is exceptional and not too expensive.
Plus after Brexit it'll be even cheaper by comparison!

Oh I quite like the Moet nectar imperial we normally get, was bought it as a present and liked it so we stuck with it. Preferred it to the VC we had on holiday even. I'm hardly a fine dining, champagne chugging socialite though. Wouldn't be blowing hundreds on something I know I wouldn't appreciate.
Never been branded a chav before. I do have the MP decals on the car at the min though. Shit am I a chav?, it's crept up on me really slowly. : |

as a previous boss used to be FD of a wine company and had been on wine tasting courses, I trusted his judgement if buying for others - Veuve Cliquot in a yellow box. But frankly I would rather have a decent red (or even a cheap red!) so dont buy it for me...
