Doesn't matter to me, I have a 328i
Given the model year differences, the Pre-LCI is much more dated of a system than LCI. I drove around in a MY17 loaner and thought the infotainment was nice, but the base model lacked GPS which is lame. I have an 07, pre-LCI. It took a few days to learn the navigation menus, but you can do voice commands like "Service" or "Map" and it takes you where you need to go. I usually drive around with the screen on GPS, and I almost only use it for navigation back to my house, but rather use my phone GPS for other addresses. |

I like the IDrive, especially in the 09+ ones. It really makes the car feel more luxurious and special. That being said, it's definitely not a must have. But you can imagine my frustration when an IDENTICAL car as mine (2010 BSM 135i with 30k miles clean title) but with Idrive was posted for sale exactly one month after I bought my car for the exact same price. It sold in 2 days
