Will unresolved eccentric shaft sensor codes cause harm over time?
I have a 2011 328i that is currently throwing Eccentric shaft sensor codes obtained via the Carly app. What are the possible long term effects or harm that I could be doing to my engine?
The car starts up just a little bit rough when cold with a tiny RPM stumble around 1K idle at first. Then it goes away and there are no driveability issues. About a month ago, I swapped out the eccentric shaft sensor because I was getting wild rpm fluctuations and the sensor appeared to be bad. I got a OEM style replacement and there is a chance that it isn't working 100% properly - but the idle start up is sooooo much better. I also swapped Coils and VCG when I installed the new sensor. I have new plugs from about 3 months back. Thoughts? |
