My Montego Blue E92 (UPDATED 06/13/2008)
06/13/2008: Wheels, Tires, Suspension, Oh My!
My new wheels are tires arrived yesterday, so I figured I'd get some new pictures up. I also got the clear bra installed today, and it looks great! I'm impressed on the handling improvement of the KW V3 coilovers. Right now it's dropped about 5/8" below sport ride height, with the dampening adjustments set to the "starting" settings. The ride still retains a lot of the smoothness of the stock sports suspension, but with greater feedback from the road and very little body roll/squat. The addition of the new wheels/tires increased the road noise and feedback a bit, but nothing too drastic. The aggressive offset in the rears took some fender rolling, and it actually still rubs accelerating around corners, so I'll have to get them rolled even further! I can only get my finger in the gap up to the second knuckle. No problem whatsoever in the front, yet. I need to fix the rear and do some more aggressive cornering to be sure, but it looks like there's plenty of room. Very special thanks to Johan and Julius at WheelSTO for their customer service and for offering some fantastic wheels! Also thanks to **********s for the coilovers and the new angels/fogs. The window tint and clear bra was installed at Accutint of Bellevue. Mods to date: * Full OEM E92 M-Tech kit * OEM E92 M3 Spoiler * CF Kidney Grills * CF BMW Roundels * Model Designation Debadge * 19" BBS LM-R (19x8.5 e28 :: 19x9.5 e25) * Michelin Pilot Sport 2 (235/35 :: 265/30) * KW Variant 3 Coilovers * Formula One Pinnacle Tint 15% * 3M Clear Bra * GP Thunder 7500K Angels/Cornering/Fogs Pics: 05/23/2008: M-Tech Kit Install and Other Goodies Today, I drove up to Richmond, British Columbia with some buddies to get my M-Tech Kit installed. Not as much fun of a drive as the Yakima drive, but still got to stretch her legs a bit more. One thing to note, I averaged just under 31mpg for the entire trip! Special thanks to Lewis Fan at MW Design Technik for all his help with the kit and the spoiler, the ordering process, and the scheduling with the body shop. Another special thanks to Alden and the crew at Rich City Collision Repairs for their paint/install work and outstanding customer service. Not only had they had the kit already pre-painted and ready for installation on my day up, but they also had all my stock body pieces wrapped up and boxed for me to take home with me when I picked up the finished product! Service second to none period. Also, thanks to Adamaster for his CF kidney grills and roundels. They look awesome! There is, however, a fitment issue with the trunk roundel that needs to be addressed. Hopefully I'll resolve this with him shortly! Onto the pics: * Full OEM E92 M-Tech kit * OEM E92 M3 spoiler * CF kidney grills * CF BMW roundels (NOTE: minus the trunk roundel, which had fitment issues) * Model designation debadge BONUS: Rolling shots on the drive back home through Western Washington (shot from buddy's truck with my stock parts in the back!): 05/19/2008: Delivery Day After 4 months of research and 2 months of waiting patiently, my 2008 335i E92 finally arrives at the dealer. The power response is nothing like anything I've ever owned. There's power all over the place in every gear. I haven't yet gotten completely through the 1,200 mile break-in period, but I have done a few quick punches. 1st and 2nd gear have crazy torque, and with DTC turned off can be scary! And being able to pass effortlessly in 6th gear on the freeway makes me smile. Another thing that stands out for me is gas mileage. I purchased the car at Hahn BMW in Yakima, which is a good 150 miles from my home. The drive is full of variety: mountain passes, twisties, and long straight stretches. With the cruise control set around 75-80 for pretty much the entire drive, less the occasional traffic slowdowns, I averaged about 28mpg. My first fill-up clocked in a first tank average of 27.5mpg, which includes city driving as well. This is much more than I had expected (and budgeted), and I'm hoping that this trend continues! Lastly, the Montego Blue color is simply stunning. It looks like a completely different color in different lighting conditions, from an almost electric blue/purple in dim fluorescent light to a breathtaking royal blue/aqua in direct sunlight. Bottomline, I'm beyond ecstatic about my new toy that has already far exceeded my expectations. Here are a few pre-PDI shots at the dealer. I apologize for the quality; the service garage was very poorly lit. I'll update the progress within this thread as it happens! I appreciate your props and critiques! Thanks for looking! Eric

I'm in the process of making a separate site with all the pics in case there are some with issues viewing the pics, or for those wanting to see more! The tint will be on Tuesday, when I'll post a few new pics. Wheels/tires and coilovers are due in the first week of June!

The M-tech makes the E92 looks so mean and sporty!
I like what you have planned for your car, very clean and tasteful mods
