Car wrapping
Would you guys suggest wrapping your own car, I mean putting cost aside is it worth it to get your car wrapped or is it very plausible to DIY. And does anybody know the price different typically ?

I know some guys that have wrapped their own cars with great results. Plan on ~$500 in materials for DIY on an e9x. A good shop would charge you about $2k for a wrap job. It depends on what you want, material cost can vary greatly. My estimate is based on more affordable vinyl from 3M or Avery.
DIY is complicated and really time consuming. I really suggest getting a couple vinyl samples to play around with. You could wrap your mirrors or apply protective film to your headlights to get a feel for it. I've bought samples from metrorestyling.com Last edited by RocketSurgeon; 11-30-2017 at 12:28 AM.. |

pay someone!!!!! I've tried wrapping just the chrome trim on two of my cars - never came out terribly well. You're going to need 2-3 people at a minimum, a lot of vinyl and a heat gun or two from what i understand.

I tried to do it and get some buddy's to help. They didn't have the patience for it. I ended up getting a liquid wrap instead a d just letting the vinyl to the side for a future project

I have wrapped all the trim in my 328, and tinted my headlights and taillights you need a lot of patience and practice. Doing a whole car with no experience would be a monumental task. If you do get assistance and use KNIFELESS TAPE!!! That will save time and from you scratching your paint!!!! Good luck keep us posted.
