The long wait is nearly over! At least you don't have a trans-Atlantic shipment that you have to wait for as well. With your contacts, I'm surprised you're not able to watch her roll off the line. That would be a cool experience.

Feel like sitting at the gate, watching them take the cars to the holding area

But alas, work needs to be done instead

As you said it will be at the dealer a few days after being built, but then needs its pre delivery inspection and needs to have a tracking device fitted for insurance

I believe my 330d is scheduled to be screwed together this week, too. Our babies might share the same birthday

It's a pity BMW don't install webcams on the production line, so we can be present at the birth. I'm sure it wouldn't take much organizing.

Mine was to be completed today and low and behold when I checked - it was built awaiting transport with a VIN. I always thought they gave end of week build estimates but last week mine said to be completed on March 6th and I guess it was.

Congrats Fleet.

Email your sales lady - and tell her you want to know the second your car arrives. Mine called me, and my father made it in time to see it come off the truck. I was there within the hour. Ahhh...The excitement.

Looks like we might be ordering a 325i M-Sport too. (For the dad) - I said he must go LeMans Blue (and he insists on a black interior). We quote shopping at the moment, because discounts are being offered. (Got 14k off so far at Midrand obv with some extras)

Can't wait to hear what you have to say after owning an E90 for a while...

Insurance here requires that poeple fit tracking devices to their cars incase they get stolen. It's kind of like LoJack? But we have many different brands:

Tracker, Netstar, Matrix etc.

that's pretty neat.

i called my insurance company and told them about BMW assist and how it can track my car if it is ever stolen, and they said i wouldn't get any discount because where i live, cars are rarely stolen.

Congratulations Fleet!! The wait is well worth it! My dealer said if I want to be there for the PDI I was more than welcome...you should ask...they won't kick you in the ass for asking!

The only thing that worries me is that when you get your car, we'll never hear from you again!
